A popular Nigerian comic actor, Olanrewaju James, also known with the stage name, Baba Ijesha, has bagged a 16-year jail term.
It could be recalled that on April 14, 2021, a trending clip, which featured Baba Ijesha in an ugly situation with the daughter of an actress and comedienne, Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess, sparked different reactions from individuals who criticized the matter from their views. The clip was also presented as an evidence against Baba Ijesha in court.
Baba Ijesha was said to have been set-up by Princess, the mother of the victim and an alleged ex-lover of Baba Ijesha. However, Princess defended herself claiming she came up with the idea after she noticed the questionable act of Baba Ijesha towards her daughter.
Although, several efforts were made to grant Baba Ijesha’s bail by some of his supporters and this caused clash in the Nollywood industry.
However, after being reported to the Police and faced trials, Baba Ijesha was charged to court on June 16, 2021 and sentenced to jail on July 14, 2022, after being found guilty of four counts, out of the six counts levelled against him.
