FASI Celebrates 3rd Anniversary in Bauchi State

in order to commemorate her 3rd anniversary, Family Support Initiative, Bauchi State Chapter organized a two day event to sensitive, empower and educate women in the community.

Bauchi State Chapter welcomed the arrival of FASI President and Founder, Kate Isah and took her on a tour around the the community.

FASI Symposium was held on the 27th of May 2022 at Double 4 international conference center Bauchi to commemorate the 2 days anniversary celebration in Bauchi state capital.

The theme for this year’s anniversary which was tagged “Socio-Cultural Factors Influencing Intimate Partner Violence” had in attendance dignitaries from across Bauchi State, beneficiaries and Bauchi State members of FASI.

Family Support Initiative was founded on April 17th 2019,with the main purpose to promote the security, dignity and long-term independence of victims and survivors of domestic violence.

In her opening address, FASI President/Founder eulogized the efforts of the members and the board for their immense support towards sustaining the Organization.

She also stated that FASI was created to educate people on the need to love themselves with the slogan “self-love is the best” thereby indicating that the organization is saddled with the responsibility of ending intimate Partner Violence and other related abuses in the society.

The 2 days event was designed to underscore our standing commitment against IPV (Intimate Partners Violence.) Also, the event was targeted at Empowering women economically with skills and tools to be change ambassadors and support selected indigent qualified students to sit for their NECO exams.

Earlier during the two day event, FASI organized an empowerment program for women within the community. The empowerment featured cosmetology- soap making as well as giving the women strategies for business development.

In the same vein, FASI also gave cash prizes to schools who participated in the program. This according to the coordinator is to empower the younger generation towards understanding the need for personal development.

Kate Isah congratulates all members of Family Support Initiative, as well as Coordinators and Board members for successfully managing the organization for three years.
