About Us

Envisioning a world without IPV

At Self- Discovery Empowerment Foundation Int’l, we believe that “A World Devoid of IPV (Intimate Partners Violence) and GBV (Gender-Based Violence) is possible” We believe that the most enduring way to fix the system that creates violence against persons in relationships is to safeguard the economic and social rights for all. We promote the safety, security, dignity, empowerment, and long-term independence of all adults and child victims/survivors of intimate relationships/domestic violence, including dating violence.

Our Story

Self-Discovery Empowerment Foundation Int’l founder, Kate Isah, was a victim of intimate partner violence herself, as a survivor, she envisioned a world free of intimate partner violence and abuse. Her vision is to improve individual and community health and economic well-being through the promotion of healthy relationships, promoting cultures and value systems that uphold healthy relationships base on equality, equity, and mutual respect. Out of that revolutionary vision, Self-Discovery Empowerment Foundation Int’l was born on April 17th, 2019. As a non-profit organization, we find ourselves today addressing an age-long and extremely sensitive issue within our society. Though concerned about today, we are not limited to today, we came to make our contribution to building a future that we envision, and that future is a world free of intimate partner violence and all forms/shades of relationship violence and abuse. As part of our effort that is central to that future, we have developed some strategic programs to help us as an organization better align and engage the public with our objectives.

Groundbreaking

The result of these unique programs has been groundbreaking, with over 175 families as direct beneficiaries between April 2019 through December2020. Within the same period, we have been able to intervene and assist 43 persons/victims, supported them through the most critical part of their journey to recovery.

Thanks to our sponsors and partners who believed in us and still believe in this vision, with your support, we have been able to support the education of indigent students from abusive homes, economically empower victims/survivors by setting up businesses for them, funding the skill acquisition training programs for victims/survivors, provide feeding support for indigent children from abusive homes, carry out sensitization and awareness campaign programs at the grass root and school levels and furthermore, timely intervene to rescue victims from their abusers.

Today, we have a physical presence that cuts across all regions of this federation and across continents.

Our Goal

Our goal is to improve individual and community health and economic wellbeing through statewide visionary advocacy and change efforts. No doubt, IPV and GBV pose visible challenges to the world’s drive towards inclusive and sustainable development. We are working to continuously build the capacity of a diverse network of domestic violence/intimate partners violence and other community-based programs to help effectively assist victims/survivors of relationship violence and their families.

We are open to collaborative efforts with any State or Private agencies and individuals with the desire to prevent and end all forms of Intimate Partners Violence. It is time we all rise up and fight the conspiracy of silence by furthering our collective effort to end all forms of IPV (Intimate Partners Violence) and GBV (Gender base Violence).
At Self Discovery Empowerment Foundation Int’l We uphold advocacy and social change as essential elements to advancing our vision.

We invite you to join us today and together we will advocate for cultures, norms, values, State policies, and systems that promote relationships built on equality, equity, respect, and dignity of the persons involved and consequently birth a world free of all shades/forms of relationship violence.
